A departure that depends on a number plate
This is what sets the run apart, and it happens before the first kilometre. The guide of the Service des Titres de Circulation is explicit: access to the Rock district is closed to all vehicles apart from those registered in the Principality or in the Alpes-Maritimes, unless the Monaco town hall grants a special waiver.
A client staying on the Rock is therefore not collected at the door by just any vehicle. The pick-up is set below, on an open road, and the exact point is agreed the day before.
The same document sets the dimensions: beyond 18.75 m long, 2.60 m wide or 4.30 m high, traffic is banned, and vehicles over 7.5 tonnes gross laden weight are banned across the territory apart from the access roads to Fontvieille and Larvotto. A saloon and a seven-seat van pass with no paperwork.
One hundred and thirty-five kilometres on one network
This journey crosses the regional motorway network from east to west, almost end to end. The junctions follow in order: 56 Monaco and 58 Beausoleil at the start, then 50 Nice-ouest, 44 Antibes, 42 Mougins, 41 La Bocca, 39 Les Adrets, 38 Fréjus, 37 Puget-sur-Argens, and finally junction 36 Le Muy, the official gateway to the gulf. Junction 13, Le Cannet-des-Maures, is the second.
Passing the Antibes toll plaza is unavoidable, and it is the point the operator itself documents as the most fragile on the axis. Over one hundred and thirty-five kilometres it is the single place where an hour can vanish without warning.
The Var section has been renewed: the operator resurfaced around 30 km between Puget-sur-Argens and Fréjus from 9 March to 17 April 2026, with 153,796 m² planed for an €8.7 million investment, mostly at night. That work is complete, and we cite it in the past tense.
Arriving once the town has reopened its streets
Saint-Tropez regulates paid passenger transport vehicles by name, from 23 May to 30 August 2026. The restricted windows fall precisely on an end-of-day transfer: boulevard Vasserot from 16:00 to 20:00, traverse de la Gendarmerie from 19:00 to 03:00, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In exchange the town converted delivery bays into drop-off zones open from 11:00 to 06:00 since 30 May, on boulevard Vasserot, avenue Paul-Roussel, avenue de la Résistance, boulevard Louis-Blanc and rue du 11-Novembre. Those are the places where a chauffeur-driven car can actually stop in season.
The fallback is the Nouveau Port car park on avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, 1,477 spaces and eight coach bays. The fare of €400 in a saloon and €470 in a van is fixed when you book, tolls included, whichever street is finally used.
