Thirty-two minutes, junction 42
Twenty-eight kilometres from Terminal 2, thirty-two minutes on the grid. The run takes the A8 westbound and leaves it at junction 42, the one the operator’s toll diagram names Mougins. Neighbouring junctions 41 La Bocca and 40 Mandelieu serve other towns: mixing them up costs a round trip along the coast.
Thirty-two minutes is an ordinary morning. Beyond the motorway the area depends on the same network as Grasse, the RD6185 fast road, on which the department records more than 39,000 vehicles a day. When that axis loads up, it is the last kilometres that stretch, not the motorway.
Booking a bay here means a municipal order
This is the administrative quirk of the town, and it is written in its own acts. The town publishes its mayoral orders, and one of them, issued in 2026, authorises the use of ten bays at the Moulin de la Croix car park for a specific operation. The same act states that any other vehicle not covered by the reservation will automatically be towed.
The amounts appear in black and white: €15 per bay per day for a house move, €25 for works or another purpose. The act cites a September 2024 framework order allowing part of the public highway to be reserved occasionally as needs arise.
In practice, you do not block a bay outside a door in Mougins because a driver arrives early. It is requested, it is paid for, and it takes time. For a transfer the consequence is simple: the stopping point is chosen among existing public bays, not in front of the address.
Golf courses and gated estates: the address makes the job
The clientele here is residential and golfing, and that changes preparation more than routing. A gated estate has a gate, sometimes a keeper, often a name that does not appear on maps. A golf resort has a vehicle entrance that is not the clubhouse door.
So we ask for those details at booking. It is not sales paperwork: it is the difference between arriving on time and spending ten minutes circling. The fare does not move: €90 in a saloon, €100 in a van, tolls and parking included, confirmed before departure.
