Chauffeur service

Chauffeur service in Beaulieu-sur-Mer: a 30 km/h town

Beaulieu-sur-Mer is 19 km from Nice airport, 28 minutes along the Basse Corniche. Tolls and parking are included, and the fare agreed at booking does not move on the day. The town council has placed the entire commune under a 30 km/h limit.

Thirty kilometres per hour, every street, all year

The town council puts it plainly: the whole territory of the commune is regulated as a 30 zone. Not the old centre only. Not a summer measure. Every street, every month.

That has a direct effect on a transfer. Most of the 28 minutes from the airport are driven on the Basse Corniche at normal speed. The last kilometre is driven at thirty. A driver working to the margin of an ordinary run arrives late; a driver who knows the coast leaves earlier. The fare does not move either way. It is fixed when you book.

The harbour charges by the hour, the station by the quarter

Three parking regimes sit within a few hundred metres of each other, and they do not behave alike.

At the marina, parking is charged from 9 am to noon and from 2 pm to 6 pm in low season, from 9 am to 7 pm in high season, at 1.40 € an hour. The Batterie car park applies the same hourly rate, Monday to Saturday outside public holidays, on the same morning and afternoon windows. In front of the station, the Effia structure works differently: open around the clock, but billed at 1.50 € per fifteen minutes.

The reading is simple. A short wait belongs at the harbour or at the Batterie. A night pick-up, or an arrival before the pay desks open, belongs at the station and costs more per minute. That arbitration is made before the car arrives, not once it is parked.

The Villa Kérylos address is not the drop-off point

The villa stands at the end of rue Gustave Eiffel. It has no car park, and its own access page sends visitors to the car park next to the town hall. Hand a driver the museum address and the last stretch is walked with the bags.

The opening hours frame the rest: 10 am to 5 pm from 1 October to 31 March, 10 am to 6 pm from 1 April to 30 September, with late openings until 10 pm from May to September. The monument closes on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.

One last point, closer to the trade than to the brochure: the ZOU 601 night bus runs only from Thursday to Saturday and on the eve of public holidays. A Tuesday dinner that finishes after the last train has no public option left. That is exactly the slot a booked car is worth paying for, and exactly the slot most visitors discover too late.

Local details and sources

The entire commune is a 30 km/h zone, so the final kilometre is driven slowly, harbour and station approaches included.

Before you arrive

Your questions.

What speed limit applies in Beaulieu-sur-Mer?

Thirty kilometres per hour. The town council states that the whole commune is regulated as a 30 zone. It is not restricted to the old centre: every municipal street is covered, including the approaches to the harbour and the railway station.

Which public car park stays open at night near the station?

The Effia car park in front of the station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week according to the town council. It is the only one open around the clock, and the most expensive: 1.50 € per fifteen minutes. A seven-day pass costs 20 € for longer stays.

Where does a car drop passengers for the Villa Kérylos?

The villa sits on rue Gustave Eiffel and has no car park of its own. Its official access page sends visitors to the car park next to the town hall. Give your driver that landmark rather than the museum address, or the last stretch is done on foot with the luggage.

Is the train enough to reach Nice or Monaco from Beaulieu-sur-Mer?

For a light trip, often yes: the town council quotes Nice-Ville in 10 minutes for 2.90 € and Monaco-Monte-Carlo in 11 minutes for 3.40 €. With suitcases, an early flight or a late return after the last service, a private transfer wins again.

Does the fare cover tolls and parking?

Yes. Tolls, parking and fuel are included, by sedan as by van. Your fare is fixed when you book and does not move on the day, whatever the traffic does to the actual journey time over those 19 kilometres.
