Three corniches, two districts, one commune
The tourist office sets it out in three lines. The Basse Corniche, the D6098, serves the seafront. The Moyenne Corniche, the D6007, serves the village. The Grande Corniche, the D2564, climbs to the pass. Metropolitan documents write RM6007 where the town hall writes D6007: same road, two naming systems.
Two link roads connect those levels. The D46 and D45 join the Grande to the Moyenne, and the D45, known as the Saint-Laurent link, joins the Moyenne to the Basse. Worth knowing on the day one of the three is cut.
The most common booking mistake is an incomplete address. A hotel « in Eze » can sit next to the railway line or three hundred metres higher up. The two districts are linked only by bus route 83, the single service that connects bottom to top. Give the property name and its street, and the chauffeur picks the right corniche.
The car park under the square stops at 1.90 m
This is the constraint that decides the vehicle. The operator of the car park under the place Charles de Gaulle states a maximum height of 1.90 m, for a facility open from midnight to 11.59 pm every day, public holidays included. The tourist office counts 400 spaces there.
A van does not go down. It drops off at street level, at the entrance to the square, and then parks further away. For a sedan the question does not arise. If you are five people with luggage, say so when you book: that information, rather than the head count alone, is what decides the drop-off point. One more planning note, from the regional tourist board: the medieval village is not wheelchair accessible.
The village shuttle takes three passengers
The tourist office describes a shuttle between the Colette car park and the foot of the village: about ten minutes each way, one departure every twenty minutes, 6 € per person, three passengers maximum.
Three. That number is the difference between a smooth arrival and an arrival in two waves. A family of five needs two runs, which is twenty minutes more than any journey planner will tell you. A private transfer driving straight up removes the question, provided it clears the height limit.
