Chauffeur service

Chauffeur service to La Plagne: 1.90 m of headroom

La Plagne is 385 km from Nice on our grid, about 4 h 10 of driving, and is built as a chain of villages. Tolls and fuel are included, and the fare is confirmed to you before departure. The covered car park at Plagne Bellecôte is capped at 1.90 metres, the lowest ceiling of any resort we serve.

The lowest ceiling of any resort we serve

The tourist office publishes its height limits, and they are severe: 1.90 metres at the Plagne Bellecôte covered car park, 1.95 metres at the Le Boulevard structure in Plagne Centre, 1.95 metres at the Plagne Soleil covered car park.

Those ten centimetres decide the transfer. A seven-seat van already exceeds the limit empty. So does a sedan carrying a roof box. In practice the covered structures are closed to any vehicle carrying ski equipment, which means to every winter transfer.

The alternative comes from the same page: free open-air car parks exist at Plagne Villages and Plagne Centre, and parking is free in summer. A transfer is therefore planned around an outdoor surface, not around a ramp.

Belle Plagne cannot be driven through

The tourist office is categorical about this village: it is completely car free. Vehicles stay in two large underground car parks serving the residences and hotels, and everything else moves through a network of lifts and covered stairways.

In practice the drop-off happens at the entrance to those car parks, never outside a front door. That is no hardship when it is planned: bags come out in one go, the guest takes the lift, the vehicle clears the ramp. It becomes a problem only when nobody said so beforehand.

The detail that decides the vehicle

Here is what a driver checks first on this destination, and what few sites mention: the village name, before the name of the building. Plagne Centre, Bellecôte, Belle Plagne, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Villages, Plagne 1800 and Aime-la-Plagne are not reached at the same place and do not offer the same structures.

Everything follows from that single word: admissible height, whether an open-air car park exists, the walking distance to the accommodation, and therefore the choice between sedan and van. It is also why we ask for luggage volume at booking, roof box included. The fare is confirmed to you in writing before departure, tolls and fuel included.

Local details and sources

The three published covered car parks are capped at 1.90 metres at Plagne Bellecôte and 1.95 metres at both Plagne Centre and Plagne Soleil, so a transfer van cannot enter.

Before you arrive

Your questions.

What are the height limits in the resort car parks?

The tourist office publishes three figures: 1.90 metres at the Plagne Bellecôte covered car park, 1.95 metres at the Le Boulevard structure in Plagne Centre and 1.95 metres at the Plagne Soleil covered car park. A transfer van enters none of the three.

How is accommodation in Belle Plagne reached by car?

It is not. The tourist office describes a completely car-free village where vehicles stay in two large underground car parks serving the residences and hotels. Movement inside the village is by a network of lifts and covered stairways.

Where does a van with a roof box park?

Above ground. The same page reports free open-air car parks at Plagne Villages and Plagne Centre, and free parking in summer. A transfer to this resort is planned around an outdoor surface, not around a covered structure.

Is the village name enough to organise the drop-off?

It is essential. The resort is a chain of villages including Plagne Centre, Bellecôte, Belle Plagne, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Villages, Plagne 1800 and Aime-la-Plagne. The village decides the arrival structure, so the admissible height and the exact point where bags come out.

Why is the price quoted as a starting figure?

Because the fare on this line is still an assumption in our grid, awaiting validation. No online payment is opened on this page, and the firm amount is confirmed in writing before departure.
