The fleet

Executive sedan: 3 passengers, 2 large cases

An executive sedan takes up to 3 passengers and 2 large cases. The minimum fare is 50 EUR, and hourly hire runs at 70 EUR an hour with a 4-hour minimum. The exact model depends on network availability on the day; the category does not change.

What the category guarantees, and what it does not

The fare first, because that is the question people actually ask. A sedan journey does not go below 50 EUR. Hourly hire is 70 EUR an hour with a four-hour minimum, and a radius of travel around the starting point is included.

What that buys is a category: three passenger seats, two large cases, an upper-range car and a driver who works in French and English. What it does not buy is a named model. Only one vehicle is owned outright here, the van; sedans come from a network of selected partner chauffeurs, and promising an S-Class then delivering something else is the fastest way to lose a client for good.

The same run at 8 am and at 7 pm

Between Nice and the principality three roads coexist, and the tourist office names them itself: the Basse Corniche on the D6098, serving the seafront, the Moyenne Corniche on the D6007, serving the hill village, and the Grande Corniche on the D2564, running over the pass. The D45 and D46 link them, so you can switch from one to another mid-route.

A driver who knows one route is stuck with it. The choice depends on the hour and the direction, and it gets revised on the move when a corniche closes overnight for works and the diversion pushes traffic onto the one above. That arbitration is invisible from the back seat, which is the point.

Two cases, and what stays behind

The limit on a sedan is almost never the number of seats. It is the boot. Two large cases go in, a third does not, and putting it on the back seat is not a serious answer when three people are travelling.

Outsize luggage is declared beforehand, not on the pavement: skis, golf bags, instruments, professional equipment. In those cases the automatic calculation stops and the request switches to a quotation by message or by phone. A fare that cannot be held is not displayed.

Before you arrive

Your questions.

Which model will actually turn up?

The category is guaranteed, the model is not. An executive sedan means an E-Class, an S-Class or a 7 Series depending on what the network has free that day. Only one vehicle is owned outright here, and it is the van.

Three passengers with three suitcases, does that work in a sedan?

No. A sedan is rated for 2 large cases, and three hold suitcases do not fit with three people on board. The answer in that case is the van, rated for 6 large cases, or a second vehicle quoted separately.

Does a sedan handle a ski resort in winter?

From 1 November to 31 March, winter equipment is compulsory in the communes listed by each prefect, and only 3PMSF tyres count as an equivalent to removable anti-skid devices. On snowy climbs the all-wheel-drive van stays the default choice.

How does the price compare with the van?

The van has its own line on the grid, above the sedan: the minimum fare moves from 50 to 60 EUR, and hourly hire from 70 to 90 EUR an hour. Both amounts are shown category by category before any payment is taken.
