Winter closes the resort to camper vans
The tourist office reports 3,500 parking spaces spread from Les Brévières to Val Claret, and one clear seasonal rule: in winter, camper vans are not admitted in the resort. Bays are reserved for them at the Grande Motte car park in Val Claret outside the winter season.
That rule says a great deal about how space is managed here. Long-stay parking is pushed out, short-stay parking is regulated, and internal movement is handed to free shuttles running around the clock. For a transfer this means one thing: the drop-off is planned for, the wait is not.
One hour in the blue zone, midday excepted
The town hall states the rule in a line: in the blue zone, parking is capped at one hour, from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 20.00, seven days a week, all year. Enforcement tightens during the winter and summer seasons.
Two details only regulars notice. Weekends are not excluded, unlike most lowland blue zones. And the break from 12.00 to 14.00 is not counted, which opens a genuine two-hour window in the middle of the day. The same municipal page pushes visitors to leave the car and use the shuttles.
What the fare covers, and what it does not
The fare, by sedan as by van, covers the whole 395-kilometre run from the Riviera: tolls, fuel, driving time, and the winter routing through Albertville, Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Route measurement gives about 29.7 kilometres and thirty-five minutes for the final section, via the D1090, the D902 and then the D87A.
What it does not cover: charged resort parking during the winter season, the booking of a space, and carrying bags inside a building. This price is still an assumption in our grid: it is quoted as a starting figure, no online payment is opened, and the firm price is confirmed in writing.
