One motorway exit serves the whole area
The intercommunal tourist office puts it in a line: from the A8, take exit 39, signed Fayence and Les Adrets de l’Estérel. The only other entrance it names is exit 38, then the Bagnols-en-Forêt direction from Fréjus, and that route is markedly longer.
So this is not a coastal drive. It leaves the motorway once and climbs into the inland Var. An incident at that single point has no close equivalent, which is why departures are set against a margin rather than against theoretical driving time. The same source names the RD 563 further north, towards Mons.
The local airfield cannot take a jet
This is the question guests ask most often, and the answer is documented. The Var state services information sheet, updated in October 2019, describes a category D airfield, ICAO code LFMF, covering 60 hectares across two communes.
The figures settle it: two paved strips only, one 350 metres by 8.3 metres, the other 251 metres by 8 metres, the rest being unpaved. The sheet states that the airfield is for leisure use alone and that no airline or aerial work company operates there. Arrivals by air therefore land elsewhere, and the road transfer from the coast cannot be designed away.
Northern Var and its winter equipment rule
Var state services designate 28 communes in the north of the department, by prefectoral order of 23 September 2021, where winter equipment is compulsory from 1 November to 31 March, signposted on site. The list is set commune by commune, not for the department as a whole.
What we do not do: treat a run to the Pays de Fayence and a continuation into the high Var as the same job. The second can fall inside the order, the first does not. If the destination lies beyond Mons or Seillans, say so when booking. That detail, not the season alone, decides how the car is equipped.
