Only one hour matters
On an ordinary transfer, ten minutes late costs ten minutes. On a wedding it costs the group photograph, the caterer’s slot, and everything scheduled after it. The whole day hangs on a single arrival time, and that is the only constraint that shapes how the chauffeur works.
The method that follows is simple: the car arrives early, every time, and that margin is built into the hours you booked. It is not an extra charge, it is planned. Your chauffeur does not discover the address on the day, and does not hunt for a drop-off point in front of your guests.
A site check prevents the height surprise
Ceremony venues in the hinterland share one flaw: they are beautiful because they are hard to reach. Hilltop village, private track, narrow gate, a hairpin with no room to turn. None of that shows on a map, and all of it decides the vehicle.
One concrete case comes up often. At Saint-Paul-de-Vence the Sainte-Claire underground car park lists 469 spaces over ten levels, open around the clock, but level 1 is capped at 1.90 metres. A tall van does not go in, and the drop-off stays on the surface. In Vence, the old-town bollards open on a magnetic badge or through an intercom staffed around the clock, with opening windows that differ by gate and by day of the week.
Another useful marker in that area: the Fondation Maeght has its own free car park, and the bus stop serving it is a ten to twelve minute walk up a steep slope. That is not a walk for ceremony shoes.
Guest shuttles, and what they actually cost
The question we are asked is almost always framed wrongly. It is not what a guest shuttle costs, it is how many rotations are needed. The van seats seven at most. Twenty guests to move is three rotations; thirty-five is five, or two vehicles.
From that number the maths is straightforward, because pricing is hourly with no tiers: you book the hours that cover every rotation, tolls and parking included, and nothing is added rotation by rotation. If the last one falls after 11 pm, a flat night supplement applies, shown before payment.
What stays on quote
An exceptional vehicle never carries a displayed price: it depends on partner network availability and is handled case by case. The same is true of any request above seven passengers in one vehicle, or of several cars needed on the same slot.
In those cases the booking engine produces no figure. It opens a direct request instead, with an answer promised within the hour. We prefer an hour’s wait to a price that would have to be corrected later.
The day we say no
There is one request we refuse: guaranteeing access to a place that depends on a permission we do not hold, whether that is a private estate, a municipal perimeter or a badge-controlled gate. We would rather say so at booking and agree a public drop-off point than discover it at the barrier on a Saturday afternoon.
We also do not run the day in place of your planner. We work to their schedule, we hold it, and we say so when it is not holdable.
